Instead of dancing and playing drums at the Fire Pit, Villagers who are sent to the Community Plaza appear to be discussing plans and ideas.Attacks 1 enemy. The reason why the Fire Pit was replaced by the Community Plaza was because the Fire Pit was considered stereotypical to Native American audiences. The Community Plaza is a symbolic representation of these interdependent communities of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas. One thing that the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas shared was a strong sense of community-working together and sharing natural resources. Others were sedentary like the Haudenosaunee of the Northeast Woodlands who, along with the Aztec (Mexico) and Inca (Peru), built permanent settlements and grew staple crops. Some were nomadic like the Lakota who followed the bison across the Great Plains. When European settlers first arrived in the Americas, there were an estimated ten million Native inhabitants in North America alone, speaking more than 300 different languages. Since time immemorial, Indigenous Peoples have inhabited North America, Mesoamerica, and South America. The ceremonial dance served as a way to unite people to face the day's challenges, while at the same time linking with the honored traditions of generations past. Many complex dance ceremonies emerged over the centuries, each with their own meaning and purpose. Long before recorded history, Native peoples have celebrated the mysteries of life, death, and the universe through the medium of dance. Hunting, cooking, meeting - all of life's activities had spiritual and ceremonial significance. Worship was not something that happened according to some arbitrary schedule.
You don't notice it all with what i use but agree, standard 11 oz quiver like a tightspot 5 plus weight of 5 arrows is noticeable.so you set everything up to that, levels etc. Me being me I’m sure I’d get tangled or frustrated with wearing a hip quiver in the bush, but I totally understand how it would work well for others. I don’t like having a bunch of stuff strapped to my body anyway. I don’t think I’d want to wear a hip quiver while hunting tho, that’s just me. I hear ya, makes sense in being able to be at full draw for longer without a quiver full of arrows due to the extra weight (mind you I don’t know what that total added weight would be). And usually, hip quivers (when you can find them) are *usually* cheaper. And if I were to ever sit in a tree stand, the quiver is on a separate belt that removes and straps onto the tree. Sure, I have to be a little more careful when crossing a fence, but that's the only limitation. I have been running a 4 arrow hip quiver for about 10 years now. This doesn't give me confidence in hunting situations where I may need to hold for 30 seconds or longer. If I put my 6 arrow quiver on and load up arrows, my pins shake after only a few seconds. But I find I can draw & hold accurately for an extended amount of time with no quiver on my bow. Adding a quiver full of arrows almost doubles the weight on the end of my arm.ĭon't get me wrong I'm 6'2" and have played sports my entire life. I tried shooting with a quiver on my bow, but the main reason I have my bow setup the way I do is it's light weight. Let me know! I'm planning on getting a 5 arrow quiver. Im planning on shooting more with a quiver attached because I believe its best to be prepared all the time rather than have to grab my quiver before moving on somewhere. This was due to me believing that I shot better with it off, which could be true, but I've been practicing more than I ever have before and adding my anchor sight has helped me a lot as well. When I sit in my stand I tend to take it off. How easy is it to install? Do I have to remove other parts from my bow to install it?(ie: Site, anchor sight, rest?)ĭo other quivers really cause arrows to dislodge and become lost that often?Ĭurrently I have the stock Octane quiver that comes with the Carbon Icon. Ive been doing a bunch of upgrades to my bow lately (added QAD HDX, Anchor Sight) Likely looking at changing stabilizers soon after a bit more research and testing models.Īnyway I was also thinking of getting a Tight Spot. Hope you guys dont mind me reviving this thread. A consumer should not have to spend more money on a guaranteed product. I will never recommend Yakima Skybox to anyone again! This company cannot be trusted to stand behind their product guarantee. Instead of warranting the product with repair or replacement they want to just give me money back. They essentially want me to buy another box and spend more money on a product that catastrophically failed. Instead of replacing the box, Yakima simply wants to refund me the purchase price through the mail because the cost of a current box is $200 over what I paid. Topping things off, I'm in the middle of an epic trip when the box failed. Both the Yakima SkyBox NX 16 Y07335 and the Thule Motion XT L TH629706 are excellent options that look great, feature dual side access, and give you 16 cu ft of extra cargo space. I discovered this when I stopped for gas. I too lost a chair on the road somewhere because the box opened. The plastic hinges warped over time and made the box frustrating to close securely. The other side is still difficult to use because the hinges It broke which similar to you means I can only use one side. The metal latch attaches to a plastic peg. The internal mechanism on the latch broke in the closed position. "a little pain" is an understatement! I have a 16S from Yakima. It's a great way to free up room in the car. It also doesn't run the entire length of my Skybox 16. It secures loose items well although it's a bit tight if you have the skybox very full. The hooks on the net match up with loops on my Skybox 16 Carbonite. I believe this comes standard with the Skybox Pro series. I'd buy the exact same model in a second. I've driven all the way across Nevada and Oregon multiple times at 70-80 mph for hours with it fully loaded and no issues. My personal taxes are on the complicated side, and TurboxTax’s search feature was a huge help. This made the process seamless and ensured all information was entered correctly. I was also able to import some of my 1099-INT and 1099-DIV forms by logging into my respective financial institution websites right from the TurboTax site. If TurboTax doesn’t recognize your employer’s EIN, you can also take a photo of your W-2 form using the TurboTax mobile app. By just entering my employer ID and the dollar amount from box 1, the program was able to automatically import my entire W-2 and populate all the required boxes. With some of the other programs, I had to manually enter each line item from my W-2 form, but not with TurboTax. Out of all four tax programs, entering my W-2 information was by far the easiest with TurboTax. The system will automatically find the TurboTax version you need based on your responses. The site asks a number of questions about common financial items, such as whether or not you have a job, pay rent, pay student loans, sold stock, have children and more. Based on our testing, it’s hands down the most customer-friendly option with an easy-to-use platform.īut you may find that you need to pay some of TurboTax’s add-on fees to ensure the most accurate results, meaning you might be better off just handing over your tax documents to an accountant to save the headache. However, if you have more complex taxes - which could include running a small business, having numerous deductions or owning lots of real estate - you’ll want to put cost aside and use TurboTax. Since professional accountant support typically isn’t needed when it comes to a simple tax situation, TaxSlayer should be your go-to for its low-cost option. If you have relatively simple taxes but still more than what’s allowed in the free versions, all of the basic-level paid options will work just fine, so cost might be your biggest factor when selecting one of the four. On the flip side, H&R Block will also work hardest at trying to sell extra options to you throughout the process, so “free” might not end up being truly free if you decide to take them up on one or more of their pitches. Not many forms are included at the most basic level, though H&R Block provides the most forms under this no-cost filing option. However, TaxAct will still charge you to file your state return. The basics of these programs don’t change much from year to year, so if you have a straightforward tax situation - a W-2 from a job and perhaps some interest or dividend income - all of these programs offer a free option that will likely work for you. This app doesn’t help with signing into websites or shopping - for that you need the browser extension. If you want offline access, you’ll need to download an app for your operating system. Here you can add passwords and personal information, but this isn’t the whole program. The initial account setup is online with 1Password’s server in the cloud, where your encrypted vaults are stored. Signing up with 1PasswordġPassword operates at several levels, and you’ll need to install it in several places for the broadest coverage. 1Password Family can have up to 5 Guest accounts. This could be useful for giving a babysitter access to the Wi-Fi or an accountant access to financial docs. Guests do not have a vault, but have access to passwords you want to share. The family organizer can choose to share passwords with children’s accounts, such as the password for the family’s Netflix.Īnother perk I haven’t seen with other password managers is the ability to make a temporary Guest account. You can have two family organizers, so all the adults in the family have equal access to all the information saved. Children can only see their own vaults - no spying on their big sister or getting access to Mom’s Visa card. They can also help family members with account recovery and get alerts if any of their passwords become compromised. This person is known as the Family Organizer and assigns the family their own private vaults, but can still look inside to make sure everything is ok. Unlike other password managers, 1Password grants the primary account admin privileges over the other accounts. This is a nice feature if you have a larger family - other services usually don’t give you the option of adding more than five or six family members. The plan is for up to five people, but you can add family members for an extra $12 per year, per person. This means that if your phone is inspected at a border, only the travel safe vaults will be shown - and there will be no indication that travel mode is on.ġPassword Family is $59.88 for a year and does everything the single user plan does. When you turn travel mode on, 1Password completely removes all other vaults from that device – and it works on both phones and laptops. It clears your clipboard so you don’t leave sensitive information lying around and can completely hide your data when you’re traveling.ġPassword has a “travel mode” which allows you to make one or more vaults that are safe for travel. It helps you make super secure new passwords, finds data breaches and weak passwords, and also helps you fill out forms. It can be installed on all the major operating systems for offline use and has browser extensions for when you’re surfing the web. You’ll also get 1GB of document storage and a tightly-secure vault to store your data. There’s no limit to the number of passwords you can save or the number of devices you can sync those passwords across. 1Password costs $35.88 per year for one user. He was delighted and hung it on the wall of his office. When finished, they presented the illustration to Walker. Kallman included Kaufman in the illustration explaining the concept to Walker, with a “pensive” Joe Oros in the background next to Lewis Crusoe, former head of Ford Division. The illustration showed a 3/4 view of a red ’61 Thunderbird with people all around it parked at the Greenbriar resort. Nelson drew the car in the illustration, Kallman did the rest. Nelson worked on an illustration with Marty Kallman, a studio designer then considered the best at drawing people and background. They decided to make a really great illustration of their proposal and present it to George Walker, head of the Styling Center, to hang on his office wall. Clever PloyĪlthough Kaufman and Nelson were disappointed, Nelson suggested a ploy Ned Nichols, his old boss at GM, had used to get his pet projects noticed. Oros listened, then told Kaufman the project was done without authorization, to stop work on it, and to destroy the model. When Oros returned, Kaufman showed the model to him and explained how it worked. So they made a fully detailed and painted small clay model of their proposal. Joe Oros was on vacation at the time, and Kaufman and Nelson knew they would have to have it done by the time he returned because it wasn’t an authorized project. Kaufman thought it was a great idea, so Nelson made a full-sized tape drawing of it. Nelson then told Kaufman one way to solve the problem was to cover the back seat with a fiberglass panel to create the illusion the 4-passenger Thunderbird was really a 2-passenger vehicle. They both thought there was still a market for a 2-passenger Thunderbird. After listening to the complaints of other designers, Kaufman and Nelson were themselves bemoaning the demise of the two-seater Thunderbird. Kaufman and Nelson got along well and had worked together before. Ken Nelson was the senior designer in the studio. In June 1961, Boyer was reassigned, and Bud Kaufman became the Thunderbird studio manager. Designers in the Thunderbird studio were also upset because everybody had given up on the 2-passenger Thunderbird. In 2002, Ford revived the Thunderbird with a retro-inspired design as a two-seater convertible. The seventh generation, produced from 1977 to 1979, was notably downsized and offered a range of V8 engine options, reflecting the era's focus on fuel efficiency. It evolved from a sporty two-seater into a luxurious cruiser with a focus on comfort and performance. The Thunderbird underwent several redesigns over the years, reflecting changes in automotive trends and consumer preferences. This design continued for the subsequent generations. The second generation, introduced in 1958, featured a larger, more luxurious body with a rear seat, transforming the Thunderbird into a four-seater. The Thunderbird quickly became popular and is credited with starting the "personal luxury car" trend in the automotive industry. It featured a sleek and stylish design, a V8 engine, and a focus on comfort and amenities. Arcel is full of grandfatherly advice in the corner. Remember, he had a life-long antipathy for gringos.ĭeNiro’s Arcel narrates the story, which begins with Duran’s childhood and the days when Arcel crossed the wrong “wise guy” ( John Turturro, quietly menacing) and had to give up the sport he loved. Robert DeNiro brings a world-weary caginess to Ray Arcel, the veteran American trainer who was forced out of boxing by the mob, but got back in to turn “the greatest fighter I’ve ever seen” into a world champ. That’s a quibble with “Hands of Stone,” a swaggering and colorful boxing bio pic from the Venezuelan writer-director Jonathan Jakubowicz (“Secuestro Express”). But if it’s based on Duran’s autobiography and thus officially sanctioned, you don’t have to have him say it. Two things every sports fan remembers about the boxer Roberto Duran - that his nickname, “Hands of Stone” (“ Manos de Piedra“) came from his ferocious, knock-out delivering fists - and “No mas,” the infamous phrase attached to a fight he was losing to Sugar Ray Leonard, a fight he quit in frustration.īut can you make a movie titled “Hands of Stone” without “No mas”?
